I take great delight in announcing that Julie Carobini will be interviewed here next week!
Chocolate Beach is a sweet novel~~~I devoured it while craving the brownies that play a role in the story!
If your book club is looking for a bonding experience, read Chocolate Beach.
For the last two days, I've been found with my nose buried in Angela Hunt's latest release, Uncharted.
At 11pm last evening, as I closed the cover, I prayed, "God, please give me sleep." He gave me almost five hours before I was wide-eyed, examining my heart and motives. The story follows the lives of six friends, twenty years after their college days. An allegory with another allegory in its center, Uncharted is a page-turner. I picked up my reading pace as I began to figure out what might be happening...and I so wanted to be wrong! The mystery isn't unfathomable, but the message is timeless. I have not been able to stop thinking of my place in the story. If you have read Uncharted, please comment! This book just begs for a long discussion!
What are you reading this week?
I read Chocolate Beach, it was great!
I've never heard of Angela Hunt before. I just had a look at my local library's website and they've got tons of her stuff, including "Uncharted." I'll be making a trip this week!

Right now I'm reading Inkheart by Cornelia Funke as well as His Needs, Her Needs by Harley somebody. Hadn't read any young adult since I quit teaching and i'm enjoying it. And although I hardly ever read non-fiction, the needs book is Fabulous so far. Shalee had recommended it on her blog.
I did just get The Immortal by Angela Hunt in the mail today from paperbackswap, so I'll be starting that next.

I am reading "The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down". It is about a Hmong family who has a little girl with severe epilepsy. Due to the language barriers with doctors, her illness gets worse and eventually kills her. It is a "clash of cultures" type of book. My sister sent it to me and said READ THIS!
So far it is very good. I had never heard of the Hmong people before and it is very informative in that respect!
